A Commitment to Worship
- We believe that man was meant to worship God in spirit and truth. We
believe this worship should involve the whole person: body, emotions,
intellect, and will. We also believe this worship is a lifestyle of
obedience, not simply a once a week experience.
A Commitment to Relevant Bible Teaching
- We believe that the Bible is God's inspired word, the authoritative
and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. The Bible is
both timeless and timely, relevant to the common needs of all people at
all times and to the specific problems of contemporary living.
Therefore, we are committed to equipping Christians through the
preaching and teaching of God's world, that they might develop godly
character and follow Christ in every sphere of life.
A Commitment to Prayer -
We believe that God desires His people to pray and that He hears and
answers prayer (Matt. 7:7-11, James 5:13-18). Prayer is what moves the
hand of God to intervene in the affairs of individuals, cities, regions
and nations. Therefore, we are committed to prayer, and the ministries
and activities of this church will be characterized by a reliance on
prayer in their conception, planning, and execution.
A Commitment to Spiritual Gifts
- We believe that God gives various gifts to build up the church and
equip us to function as members of the body of Christ. These gifts are
given by each member of the Godhead: the Father (Rom. 12:3-8), the Son
(Eph. 4:11), and the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:8-10, 28). Therefore, we
believe Christians should follow the Apostle Paul's instructions to
eagerly desire spiritual gifts (1Cor. 14:1), while always maintaining
proper balance and order in their use, with a heart to serve others.
A Commitment to Healthy Homes
- We believe that God desires for us to have healthy homes that are
filled with His blessing. When we honor God and follow biblical
principles in how we function within our homes we position ourselves to
receive His blessing (Prov. 3:33). Our desire is that every person who
calls Family Life Center their church home would echo the words of
Joshua when he said, "As for me and my household, we will serve the
Lord." (Joshua 24:15b).
A Commitment to The Great Commission
- We believe that the primary purpose of the church is to fulfill the
Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). This involves sharing with people
the good news that Jesus Christ came to provide salvation, healing and
deliverance. It also involves teaching a person how to live a life that
pleases God once they come to faith in Christ.
A Commitment to Teamwork -
We believe that the best way for us to fulfill our mission as a church
is by working together as a team. Everyone in the body of Christ is
significant and has been uniquely designed to serve God and play a part
on His team. This divine design involves personality, spiritual
giftedness, experience, and passion. We believe that it is the
responsibility of the church corporately to equip, encourage, and
actively help the individual believer find the place where God has
designed him or her to serve in the body of Christ.
A Commitment to Healing and Wholeness
- We believe that the atonement that Jesus Christ provided at Calvary
includes the forgiveness of sins, as well as healing and wholeness for
those who are suffering physically and/or emotionally (Luke 4:18-19).
We want FLC to be a church where people are experiencing the healing
power of God in their complete person.
A Commitment to Relationships
- We believe that God desires for us to develop healthy relationships
within the body of Christ. Relationships provide a source of
Friendship, strength, and encouragement that we all need. Therefore, we
seek to provide an atmosphere that encourages the development of
healthy relationships where people can share common interests.
A Commitment to Visitors -
We believe that when someone visits FLC it's a divine appointment. When
people come to church they are coming with spiritual needs and often
wondering if God cares about them. We desire for our visitors to know
that God cares about them and that we as a church value them and place
a high priority on helping to meet their spiritual needs through
Christ. Therefore, we seek to provide an atmosphere that extends care
and friendliness to our visitors.
